Tailored for UC Davis undergraduates, this workshop offers guidance on writing impactful personal statements for graduate school, scholarships,  or job opportunities. Through practical exercises and expert insights, you'll learn to effectively convey your experiences, goals and unique qualities. This workshop is led by Nick Stillman, a graduate student research at the Writing Center and a doctoral student in English literature. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Degree from Saint Mary’s College. He was recognized with multiple writing awards, including Best Fiction of 2018 for Metaphorosis Magazine and the Washington State Press Award (general and humor categories). His journalism and fiction were published in outlets such as SB Nation, Baseball Prospectus, Prospects Live and Metaphorosis Magazine. With a deep passion for teaching compelling and authentic writing, Stillman helps students craft personal statements that resonate with readers.
