About

The UC Davis Writing Center, launched in fall 2022, brings together writing instruction and writing support through a shared mission and space. The new, comprehensive writing center consists of dedicated, pedagogical experts who teach writing courses, support writing across the curriculum, and offer one-on-one individualized consultations, peer mentoring, faculty-focused workshops and resources for instructors. Our work is grounded in the concept that all writing is rhetorical and social, and we provide Aggie writers with the tools to engage with writing in intentional and exploratory ways.

The Writing Center is committed to being at the center of all writing, for all Aggies. As part of that vision, our center is located at the heart of campus, at the top of the Teaching and Learning Complex.

While providing services to undergraduate and graduate students, along with faculty and instructors, the Writing Center is a program of the Office of Undergraduate Education, supporting the mission to foster diverse, innovative and transformative educational experiences.

  • Acknowledging the Patwin land and people

  • We should take a moment to acknowledge the land on which we are gathered. For thousands of years, this land has been the home of Patwin people. Today, there are three federally recognized Patwin tribes: Cahil DeHe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, Kiesel Dehe Wintun Nation and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.

The Patwin people have remained committed to the stewardship of this land over many centuries. It has been cherished and protected, as elders have instructed the young through generations. We are honored and grateful to be here today on their traditional lands.
