About

The Writing Center is a dynamic and professional hub for writing support at UC Davis. Grounded in writing studies and writing center research, our work is informed by the understanding that writing is a rhetorical and social practice. We support Aggie writers in engaging with writing in intentional, reflective and exploratory ways.

Serving the entire UC Davis campus, the Writing Center provides expert, research-informed teaching and support for writers and for those who teach writing across disciplines. Our practice enables us to support all Aggies and to cultivate a safe, inclusive and intellectually vibrant environment for writers across the curriculum, in classrooms, and within our consulting spaces.

The Writing Center offers university-wide writing services for undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and faculty.

  • Acknowledging the Patwin land and people

  • We should take a moment to acknowledge the land on which we are gathered. For thousands of years, this land has been the home of Patwin people. Today, there are three federally recognized Patwin tribes: Cahil DeHe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, Kiesel Dehe Wintun Nation and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.

The Patwin people have remained committed to the stewardship of this land over many centuries. It has been cherished and protected, as elders have instructed the young through generations. We are honored and grateful to be here today on their traditional lands.
