Londie Martin fell in love with rhetoric and composition while working toward a BA in English at the University of Texas at Austin. This spark led her to Iowa State University for an MA in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication and then to the University of Arizona for a PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English. From there, she worked in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for 11 years, first as Assistant Professor and then as Associate Professor. In that time, her teaching, research, and service focused on first-year writing, document design, digital nonfiction, video game studies, feminist rhetoric, gender studies, and memoir. Our relationship to place, community, and environment is often the animating seed that connects her research interests and the courses she teaches. At UC Davis, she is excited to work with students in Advanced Composition, Business Writing, and beyond.
